Boy................... you make me smile!...................

I was teasing with mike tonight saying that I think Vahnya has gone from a baby to a preschooler in the four months since he has been home. but I really do think it is true .The last couple weeks he has had such an attitude sassy and just acting like any two year old would. yes I know he is three but gaining a year in four months is pretty good. When we brought him home he was like a baby more like a one year old.

He had a time out today because I took something away from him and he told me NO! with a sassy little look on his face. I said "YOU DO NOT TELL MOMMY NO! GO SIT IN TIME OUT." He marched his self over to the time out spot and sat with a grumpy face. It was the first time he went and sat in time out by his self with out me sitting him there. It was so darn cute it took all I had not to go hug him up and kiss him all over.

I can tell things are starting to click with him he has done things these last couple weeks he had never done before. Yesterday he asked for milk, he actually said MILK and today he said HOT when I was getting biscuits out of the oven.Today he also went and put something back in its place when I said "go put that back". and he puts things in the trash when I say, "go put that in the trash." He has really learned so much and he is starting to use what he has learned.

So I guess my baby is gone! at least I got to have him for 4 months. For now we have a two year old and I am happy and proud to deal with his two year old behavior.Bring on the terrible twos! And maybe in for months he will be into the three year old stuff. We will take it as it comes, how ever fast or slow, we will take him as he is, every bit of him, the sweet and the sassy!

Smile (Just want to be with You) Chris Rice

When we were going thru the adoption process it was tuff, there were times when I wanted to give up, times when I just wanted to hold Vahnya so much that my arms hurt for him. I would listen to this song by Chris Rice and cry and cry and cry and just let all my feelings out. This song meant so much to me. I haven't listened to it since we have been home until today and it is strange how a song that once brought so much emotion out of me now puts a huge smile on my face and makes me cry for other reasons happy reasons .

He has brought the best out of me!

I was going to post about how Vahnya has changed me but I got to thinking and I don't think changed is the correct word. I'm not a different person, I'm still me. I think what Vahnya has done is opened my eyes and brought the best out of me. Things I never knew were in me. He has brightened up my world, and that was pretty hard to do cuz my world as a mommy of six wonderful children was already bright as can be. It never stops amazing me how Love can just grow and grow and never run out.

I can see how the Lord must feel about all of us his children, he loves us 100 x more then we love our children. How can that be? sometimes I just look at one of my kids and feel this overflowing love like my heart will burst, you know the feeling when you love them so much you just want to eat them up. lol

I can see how Vahnya has brought things out in my children as well. Each one of them adore him like crazy. Amanda and Madison are advocates for orphans and down syndrome. http://guardianangels-love.blogspot.com/   Josh's face brightens up with a huge smile when he sees Vahnya,Makenzy loves being his big sister and the fact that she is his favorite,Jordan is so sweet and gentle with him. And Amelia I didn't know that Vahnya had any effect on her besides her loving to boss him around. lol until last night when I watched her play with a little girl her age that was at the play group. The little girl had casts on her legs because she had hip surgery. She had to crawl or scoot anywhere she goes and can only lay on the floor to play. She also was blessed to be born with down syndrome. Amelia was so sweet with her she lay with her on the floor and played so sweet with her. she didn't notice she had down syndrome she was just like her. The only thing she asked about is why she had casts. Seeing how tender and sweet Amelia was with her shows me that having Vahnya for her baby brother has even brought out the best in her .

I knew that the Lord was giving us a special gift when we started on the journey to adopt Vahnya. I never knew it would be this good. The Lord told me Vahnya would brighten up the room when he walked in, he does! He told me he would touch peoples heart, he does! This boy is special, the Lord has something special for him. I just dare you to spend 10 min with Vahnya and tell me otherwise. Look into his sparkling eyes or sweet smile and tell me he's not made perfect. I just dare you.
