Happy 4th Birthday

Today is Vahnya's 4th birthday but the first with his family.We are so blessed that he is with us.He is so loved. Thank you Lord for the gift of Vahnya!

Vahnya had his first early intervention (EI) meeting today. The occupational therapist (OT) came and did preschool with us. After we were done doing our preschool paper and the kids went to play. She says to me with this shocked look on her face,"I am totally blown away right now,I have never had a kid on the first visit sit thru an entire circle time and participate and then go straight into doing a preschool project that has multiple tasks like he did." I said we do this every day. she just looked at me in amazement. WAY TO GO VAHNYA MY SWEET WONDERFUL SMART BOY!!!! YOU MADE YOUR MOMMY SO PROUD TODAY!

Vahnya's 4th Birthday tomorrow

I have a birthday to plan! This is like no other birthday! This birthday is also celebrating life, freedom, love. This birthday is huge because if he were still in his country and still in his baby home this birthday would have meant he was going to be transferred any day, to a not-so-nice place where he may have spent the rest of his life in a crib. Can you even think of this boy in a place like that? I can't, instead he will celebrate with a party and gifts and cake and balloons and friends and family. He will celebrate life and a future!!

Trick-or-Treat!

He loved going from house to house meeting people and getting candy.He walked most the way and went up big steps.He said hi,and bye bye and once in a while Thank you but he never did say trick or treat. He would want to go in and join the party if he heard music or saw little kids lol we had to drag him away. We would dump his pumpkin bucket ever so often so that he didn't spill out his candy while walking and he would get so upset with us I know he thought we were taking his candy and were going to eat it all up lol. He had a great time and I am sure next time we go for a walk he is going to try to go up to a house and try and get candy lol.

Vahnya didn't know what to think about pumpkin guts and as long as he could use a spoon and didn't have tro touch the stuff he liked it. We even put him inside Makenzys big pumpkin. lol

HE has my heart!

Last night I was holding Vahnya like a baby he was tired it was past bedtime. As I held him he just looked into my eyes like a newborn baby does when you feed them their bottle. you know those bonding moments. Mike teasingly says to me, "He's not a baby" I said, "Oh yes he is, he is my baby and he never got to have these moments with me his mommy when he was a baby." We are making up for lost time. I can not tell you how these little moment fill my heart. As I write this I am in tears, this little boy as all of my children are is a part of me. He may not have my blood but he sure has my heart and I am so blessed to get to be his mommy.

After almost a year since we first traveled reality has set in!

Last night I was cleaning our room and found some stuff from our travels to Russia and for some reason it just hit me hard tears came to my eyes and I thought I can not believe that we did that! I can not believe that Mike and I of all people stepped out of our little safe world and traveled to Russia three times! That we flew so far away and actually did that! Our little boy is actually with us now and he is ours! wow!



It is funny how it took so long to sink in, it was like this overwhelming disbelief that we actually did it. If you know us at all you know that we are not too adventuress we go to the same restaurant, shop at the same stores, so on. We don't step out and try new things much, so for us to go to Russia was huge! all I can say is that it was all God! We could have never done it with out him and we would have never even tried. I am so happy that we did.
