back to normal,what is normal?
I'm sad because my days are getting back to normal .ha normal I don't remember what that is .I have had this adoption on my mind since Feb. and been working on it since March. There is not a day gone by I didn't think of Josiah first thing and all thru the day. Worked hard getting all of our paper work done and now don't even remember some of what we did or how to do it. I would have to look back in the hand book.
I feel like this week my life has somewhat gotten back to normal. I can't put my finger on why I feel this way, I still think about Josiah but maybe not as much. I'm not dwelling over anything, not checking my emails expecting one from our agency every 10 sec.. I guess I just don't expect it any more, maybe I have grown numb to it, maybe that's good maybe that means I have changed. I don't know but it seems so long ago off in the distance that we started all of this. The homestudy and all that all my stress over the uscis and everything else makes me laugh now. Maybe this is like when you give birth you remember it but you don't remember the pain, you can tell the story and after a while you forget things, well that's me anyways. Someone asked me the other day when each of my kids started to walk ummmmm ok let me find the baby books. There are a few years I don't remember much at all. when my first four kids were 5,3,15 mo and new born, I guess I was just so busy. I'm keeping a journal now so I don't forget any of it. Maybe that's what keeps people Adopting more then one child, they don't remember how much work it was or maybe its because the rewards are so great they don't care. like being pregnant and giving birth. Guess if I remembered everything about that I wouldn't have given birth to six kids. ok so that's my rambling for the day. I know that one day I will have Josiah in my arms and will be thinking the same about his adoption because I'm already thinking about the first half we went thru that way. I just don't know how to feel about my life getting back to normal when I don't have Josiah in my arms yet.

Anne Marie
And today I'm reminded why I can stand to wait and why I will do anything I have to do to get Josiah home. Today a little girl that many have come to know and pray for from Reeces Rainbow a little girl that spent her 5 years of life in an orphanage with no mommy to hold her, no daddy to kiss away her booboos, no family to love her.A sweet little 5 year old girl died today alone. sweet AnneMarie you can read her story here

no choice but to wait
We have no choice but to wait, after all the rush to get all the paperwork done notarized, apostilled now we wait. life goes on as usual. we have done our part now we wait for the lady that was to give us our date to go see Josiah 7 weeks ago. . she went on a three week vacation came back to the office but didn't have time to go thru all the dossiers.so we wait and then she got sick and has been sick for almost three weeks. so we go on with life trying to make it feel normal as we wait for this one lady to get back to the office and give our facilitator a meeting to talk about our dossier. and give us a date to at least come meet the committee and get our referral to go see Josiah. so life goes on right! I'm trying to let it trying not to let this get me down, trying to see the up side of things, trying not to think about it because I have no choice but to wait.

7 months
7months to tell you the truth when we first started this adoption I thought by the time we got to 7 months we would already have him home. After looking at other family's blogs and seeing that they had their child home in 7 months. But I have learned that adoption is not ever the same for anyone. For one family it could go real fast, for another it could take years. Different obstacles can get in the way, they are able to be overcome but it can slow you down. For some it could be the homestudy or USCIS or FBI fingerprints For another vacations taken by people in your Childs country,it could be something needed for the dossier or court and for another it could be a volcano eruption. You just don't ever know. But you know who does know? God because he is the one who has already gone before you and pathed the way, there may be bumps, hills or even mountains but if you just keep on the path you will get there. With each one of those bumps hills or mountains you will learn something, you will grow, your faith will increase. Each one is put there for a reason. you may never know what that reason is but it doesn't matter God does.
So as I type this and try to understand I realize I don't need to understand I just need to trust. I know the Lord told us to do this, I know Josiah is our son, I'm not gong to let any bump, hill or mountain get in my way! Yes we still need money,no we don't have many people that seem like they care, yes there is nothing we can do about the committee saying no more adoptions in 2010,there is nothing we can do about the one lady we need being sick for two weeks. There is nothing we can do is that true? No we can pray and God can move mountains RIGHT!!

A birthday Gift for Josiah
November 3rd will be Josiah's 3rd birthday we have set up a chip in for Happy birthday gifts for him. If you think of it like this if you are invited to a birthday party you bring a gift right you spend $10 maybe $20 bucks on some little toy or out fit you hope the child will enjoy, as you watch them open their gifts to see if they enjoy yours. usually they like the box and wrapping better then the gift. Think of the gift you would be giving to Josiah with this $10 or $20 in the form of money donated to bring him home. You would be contributing to his home coming the best gift ever! brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, cousins, grandparents and a mommy and a daddy. Never to go with out a loving touch, a sweet hug and kiss, a heart felt I love you. Never to go to bed crying or hungry, the GIFT OF LIFE!. I know that when people think about donating they think of all the reasons they can't, they think they need to donate some big amount, when really if we just had all the people that love and care about us donate what they spend on a birthday gift, a baby shower or wedding gift. It would all add up and we would get there together. So far this adoption has cost us $15,000 most of it was paid for by us by the Grace and Glory of God. About $600 of it was donations thank you to the people that have donated. We still have at least $15,000 to go. . So we still need your help. I am not worried I know that God will provide just as he has the first $15,000 but how wonderful to be able to say our family and friends helped to bring our baby home.WHAT A WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY GIFT!

So we wait and he will come home in 2011!
They had a Conference yesterday in Josiah's city we were told that due to the City Government policy the goal of the Committee is not to exceed the number of adoptions that took place last year, and by the end of 2010 they need to present statistic figures that would be less than those from 2009.it is because of the recent US adoptive parent abuse cases, that the Governor wants to reduce the number of adoptions, and his goal is to reduce the number by 60% of the number of adoptions from 2009)
we were told
"Don't worry as your child
has no alternative but to be adopted. Just wait!
It sounds as if you could still get a first trip scheduled by the end of the year, but not court. It doesn't sound like they are officially stopping registrations and first trips for this year, but they are definitely trying to slow them down. I'll keep you updated on what we find out.
So no court until next year, we will just wait each day for that email telling us our date to go meet him.
I don't like this at all, I don't like not knowing, being in limbo every day wondering if it will be the day we get our date. this is not fun not at all.!! I am not one bit surprised, I knew going into this adoption that nothing is set in stone, that things happen and you can't plan on anything going the way you want it to or the way it did for someone else.
I know it's in Gods hands his timing but it doesn't make it easy. Mike wrote this to me and it sorta just sums it all up
"God wouldn't have brought us this far to only close the door ... and if they do close them for the rest of the year then there is more to Gods plan then we can see"
so I guess now we just continue to wait and pray.

going private
No news yet on our date but I have decided to make our blog private so that I can talk more freely about what country Josiah is in, about his orphanage or what ever else I feel I need to vent about. without the worry that it will end up being seen by the wrong eyes and jeopardize our adoption.
So if you would like to keep fallowing our journey. please email me at katrina9@clear.net so I can send you an invite. You will need to tell me how I know you. I will be making the blog private next Monday Oct 4th.

No date today lets try for Oct 1st
We were told that the Committee had not had time yet to read our dossiers, because of vacations there are too many dossiers left unregistered from the registration of August 23, the date our Dossier was submitted .They told us not to expect a date until Oct 1st at the earliest. So we wait yet another week, we wait.
I am surprisingly calm about this I'm not really upset or sad. Maybe I have just gotten use to these set backs or maybe I realize it is all in Gods perfect time. I hate not knowing our date and not being able to plan but at least I can relax until next Friday when I will then be hitting the Send/Recv button on my emails 100 times a minute in hopes for that email telling me our date. For now I will rest, relax and try to put it out of my mind. Another thing I was thinking was how wonderful it is that there are so many dossiers that still need to be registered, because that means there are that many more kids that will soon be home with a family Thank you Lord!
